Kevin is a leader in community development, economic and real estate
development finance, planning, and placemaking.

Kevin grew up in southern Missouri and graduated with a degree in journalism from Missouri State University. His work in broadcast journalism took him around the Midwest and ultimately brought him to Cincinnati. It was in Cincinnati where he bridged his two passions of storytelling and community development. His work as Executive Director of the Walnut Hills Redevelopment Foundation (WHRF) from 2011-2018 was where he first began utilizing his diverse background in storytelling and community planning to help a struggling organization grow and eventually spearhead over $60 million in mixed-use development. These projects included several public and private partners and a diverse set of public financing tools such as Tax Increment Financing, public loans/grants, and Historic Tax Credits. Since co-founding YARD & Company, Kevin has led teams in the creation and implementation of dozens of projects ranging from small and large-scale placemaking projects to downtown master plans. Kevin received a Master’s Degree in Community Planning from the University of Cincinnati with a specialization in urban real estate and neighborhood development.
